Of course, the hot topic on everyone’s mind is, “when will the real estate market turn around?” Have we really hit rock bottom yet, or will prices continue to drop before we see a recovery? And with the impending New Year upon us, many wonder if 2010 will be year in which we see the tide start to turn.

Judi Pobst takes a look at trends leading into 2010 for the Gulf Harbors, FL area, which could  mark things to come for the rest of the country as well.

“The New Year always brings us optimism for the future. Will this be the year our prices stabilize and maybe even start to turn around? Will the buyers recognize that prices have hit rock bottom and that now is the time to scoop up a great bargain?

There used to be an adage that the 3 top factors in real estate were location, location, location. While location and condition are still important, the ultimate driving factor today is price. It is safe to say that every buyer in every price range is expecting, even demanding, a bargain.”

With the extension of the new homebuyer stimulus and tax credits for eco-friendly houses, 2010 just may be the year we see the market begin to turn. If prospective homebuyers love deals, it’s up to REALTORS® to show them when and where these deals can be found.
